Hi there - thanks for looking me up. I'm a PhD student at Griffith University on the Gold Coast campus. My research explores how young people use online social spaces (specifically social network sites such as MySpace and Facebook) to construct a reflexive sense of identity. I'm also interested in how that sense of self manifests within, across or between systems of belonging and whether these systems of belonging are changing.
To pay the bills I also teach in the areas of youth studies, sociology and cultural theory and have lectured on a wide range of topics from virtual communities, cultural theory and queer theory through to introductory lectures on social structure.
