About
Rebecca Clunn nee Cunningham is an Australian curator, sound, and performance artist interested in all methods of making. Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Music, Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University and Bachelor of Creative Industries 2A Honours, Interdisciplinary from QUT and is currently undertaking a PHD in Business [Griffith University] exploring the operation of trust in the global performance art network.
She has curated a number of events in Brisbane including MUSICIRCUS (2004), FLUX-US (2006) and CHAMBERS (2007), "exist in 08: an international live art event" (2008) and “exist-ence” (2010). Rebecca has also performed locally and internationally; most recently Rebecca has made work for the National Review of Live Art, Glasgow (Feb 08 & Feb 09) Brisbane festival (2008), Ipswich City Square Mall (2008), The Other Film Festival (Brisbane, Nov 07), Once Only (Brisbane, Sept 07), Fetter Field festival (Singapore, Sept 07) and has presented digital work in a range of other events, from Indonesia to Russia.
Rebecca is currently involved in presenting further "exist-ence" events in 2010 and working on some small objects for upcoming mail art project. She sees performance art as a way of living utopia in the moment, offering a space of pause, a place for personal meta-phsyical transformation.
